Margot Robbie Biography
Margot Robbie is an Australian actress born to her mother Sarie Kessler (a physiotherapist) and Doug Robbie (a former farm owner) in Dalby, Queensland. She was born on 2nd July 1990 and grew up in Gold Coast where she spent most of her time helping her grandparents with the farm. She attended the Somerset College and then relocated to Melbourne in her late teens to pursue an acting career. She has three siblings; an older sister, Anya, an older brother, Lachlan and a younger brother, Cameron. Their single mother raised all the four alone. Margot Robbie has minimally interacted with her father. Her family depended on the farm to make both ends meet.
Robbie’s professional acting started in 2007 when she appeared in two films, Vigilante and I.C.U. After having had a positive audition, she was awarded a role in I.C.U. without having an agent at that time. Robbie has also participated in commercials and appeared as a guest actress in City Homicide and The Elephant Princess. From 2008, she started to appear as a guest artist in Neighbours as Donna Freedman. Her role in the film was later on elevated from guest to a regular cast member. At the start of 2009, Margot Robbie made appearances in numerous Network Ten promotions. Still the same year, she was nominated the favorite Hottie at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards. She was also nominated for the Most Popular New Female Talent at the Logie Awards in Australia.
In 2010, Robbie left Neighbors after three years to look for greener pastures in Hollywood. She has stayed in New York for a number of years. In May 2014, she relocated to London where now stays with her boyfriend and two friends. She is in a relationship with British assistant director Tom Ackerley. The two met on the set of Suite Française.
